Michael Magnotti, MD is a board certified Endocrinologist and the president and CEO of Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods (SMGR) in Santa Rosa, CA. He completed medical school and residency in internal medicine at the New York University School of Medicine. His fellowship in Endocrinology was at Mount Sinai Hospital, also in NYC. After completing his training, Dr. Magnotti joined a small but very busy Endocrinology practice where he managed a large volume of patients and co-managed the operations and governance of the group. After 10 years there, he moved from NYC to CA to join SMGR in 2017. Since then, he has held various operational and governance roles at SMGR including service chief of medical specialties and treasurer. He has been on the board of directors of SMGR since 2020. In January of 2025, he assumed the role of president and CEO of the group where he has been recruiting top clinicians to expand services and meet patient demand, promoting further integration with our partners at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital and Sutter Lakeside Hospital and developing and funding space expansion projects to house the new clinicians. He is also focused on magnifying and further developing the incredible culture of equity, collegiality, inclusion and harmony that makes SMGR such an amazing place to practice medicine. Dr. Magnotti continues to see patients in clinical practice in the department of Endocrinology.
