The Leadership Academy is designed to develop healthcare leaders by equipping them with the skills needed to drive organizational success through effective team development, action-oriented decision-making, and leading change. This program is essential for aligning leadership capabilities with the organization's long-term goals, including Destination 2030, ensuring leaders can optimize performance, foster collaboration, and build a positive, engaging workplace culture. By closing critical leadership gaps, Leadership Academy supports the continued growth and success of both the organization and its employees.  

This month’s theme for Leadership Academy is a continuation of strategy and culture discussions.  We will focus on strategies to manage complexity in the workplace.

Learning Objectives

Upon completing this learning activity, participants will be able to:

1.) Gain insight into the role of innovation within leadership, including its historical context at Sutter Health, through practical applications via portfolio projects and a current business case study. 

2.) Analyze a case with an eye towards aligning goals and driving successful outcomes.

3.) Demonstrate how leadership tools and frameworks have been applied to address your individual workplace challenge by sharing insights, outcomes, and lessons learned with peers. (individual workplace challenge sharing)

4.) Apply leadership concepts and tools towards your real-world capstone project that addresses a strategic challenge within Sutter Health.

5.) Analyze the drivers of health care costs and financing in the U.S. to better understand how economic and policy forces shape health system challenges and impact organizational decision-making.

6.) Recognize and reduce collaboration overload and micro-stressors to protect energy, improve well-being, and enhance strategic impact as a leader.
