0643_SHVGR_Brain Health Series_Diagnosis of MCI and Early AD_Live
Description:
This one-hour lecture will provide an overview of the current state of practice at Sutter Health for the diagnosis and management of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and early Alzheimer’s dementia (AD). Participants will review the symptoms, pathophysiology, and clinical spectrum of MCI and early AD, along with best practices for cognitive screening in primary care using evidence-based tools. The session will also cover updates on biomarker testing, guidance on its appropriate use, and the latest disease-modifying treatments aimed at slowing disease progression and preserving brain health. Additionally, the lecture will highlight upcoming Sutter initiatives designed to enhance early detection and care coordination, including digital cognitive screening tools and streamlined referral pathways. By the end of this session, participants will be better equipped to recognize early signs of cognitive decline, implement effective screening strategies, and integrate new resources into their practice to improve outcomes for patients and families.
