Description:
This educational lecture addresses critical gaps in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) management across healthcare settings. Clinicians require the latest evidence-based approaches to identify under-recognized presentations of OSA, particularly in women, children, and patients without classic symptoms. This lecture responds to concerning trends of missed diagnoses, treatment delays, and suboptimal outcomes that affect patient quality of life, cardiovascular health, and cognitive function. By bridging knowledge gaps in this common but frequently mismanaged condition, clinicians will strengthen their ability to identify at-risk patients earlier and implement more effective, personalized treatment approaches.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this activity, learners will be able to:
1.) Review obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) prevalence and underdiagnosis, risk factors and impact on physical and mental health.
2.) Examine how to use screening tools and recognize when to refer for home sleep apnea testing or polysomnography.
3.) Compare the effectiveness of OSA treatments, including CPAP, oral appliances, lifestyle interventions and emerging options.
