0705_CPMC_Sutter Health Neurosciences Grand Rounds_Advances in Autonomic Medicine_Live

June 26, 2025

Description:

Many neurologists receive minimal exposure to autonomic dysfunction beyond basic concepts, leaving them unprepared to recognize, diagnose, and manage complex autonomic conditions in clinical practice.  The intricate role of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) in regulating cardiac physiology has long been recognized yet many practitioners lack the specialized knowledge to identify when autonomic dysfunction is the underlying cause of seemingly unrelated symptoms throughout the body.  This neuro grand rounds session will provide the neuroscience community with essential updates on three rapidly evolving areas of autonomic medicine, addressing the significant knowledge gaps in current clinical practice.

Target Audience

Physicians (MD or DO)

Other Healthcare Professionals

Learning Objectives

By the end of this learning, participants will be able to:

1.) Distinguish advances in autonomic disorders secondary to synuclein disorders

2.) Analyze advances in TTR amyloidosis

3.) Examine advances in small fiber neuropathy
