0776_PAMF_GR_GR_Cardiovascular Kidney Metabolic Syndrome_Live
Description:
This course provides an in-depth exploration of Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) Syndrome, a complex condition linking obesity, diabetes, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Participants will examine the magnitude of CKD as a public health challenge, including its economic impact, health inequities, and impact on patient outcomes. The course emphasizes identifying stages of CKM Syndrome and reviewing the kidney heat map to understand the relationship between CKD stage and degree of albuminuria. Learners will gain practical knowledge of the four classes of medications shown to slow CKD progression: RAAS blockers, SGLT2 inhibitors, non-steroidal MRAs, and GLP-1 receptor agonists. Through case-based discussions and current clinical trial evidence, participants will develop strategies to improve risk assessment, implement combination therapies, and optimize patient-centered care to reduce cardiovascular and kidney-related morbidity and mortality.
