0821_ABSMC_Grand Rounds: Antibiotic Stewardship: Appropriate Use in Common GI Scenarios_Live

November 4, 2025

Description:

This one hour grand rounds session addresses the ongoing challenge of antibiotic overuse in gastrointestinal infections by equipping the healthcare team with the latest evidence-based guidelines. Participants will learn the science behind more restrictive antibiotic use in acute uncomplicated diverticulitis, best practices for antibiotic selection in C. difficile infection, and the limited role of empiric antibiotics in acute pancreatitis. Through case-based discussions and guideline reviews, the session aims to close knowledge gaps and promote safer, more effective patient care.
