Description:
The Physician and APC Accelerated Leader program is a 4-day session that offers hands-on, practical skill development for experienced physicians and advanced practice clinician leaders with at least 6 months experience in their current leadership role. This program further develops the skills and mindset that are essential to effective leadership of interprofessional teams and working groups. The program aims to prepare leaders to utilize skills in emotional intelligence (EQ), communication, change management, increasing operational & financial awareness within your team, and influence as they move a self-selected project toward a desired outcome. In addition, the program incorporates mindfulness and reflection activities to help participants combat burn-out for themselves and the teams they lead.

Learning Objectives
After completing this program, participants will be able to:
• Identify key concepts of healthcare financial management.
• Explain principles of operational management and workflow optimization
• Apply strategic planning techniques to align daily operations with broader organizational goals
• Describe the clinician leader’s role in driving financial stewardship and operational excellence
• Distinguish between change management and change leadership, and articulate the role of a leader during change
• Recognize the emotional impact of change on individuals and teams
• Apply change ‘Prosci’ Change model to real-world leadership scenarios
• Practice communication techniques that promote transparency, engagement, and trust during change
• Develop strategies to address resistance and sustain momentum in long-term change efforts
• Describe key components of effective, data-informed decision-making
• Apply frameworks for prioritization when making complex decisions
• Demonstrate negotiation techniques that promote win-win outcomes in collaborative environments
• Utilize strategic planning tools (e.g., SWOT analysis, SMART goals) to align team goals with organizational priorities
