Description:
This webinar will explore how healthcare providers can build rapport and communicate effectively with patients who are non-English speaking or who may have low health literacy. Through case-based discussions, healthcare providers will be able to better understand the impact that low health literacy can have on a patient’s health care outcomes and develop approaches that help mitigate potential negative outcomes. Participants will learn strategies to communicate complex medical information using plain, straightforward statements that are easily understood. This webinar will also highlight methods that healthcare providers can implement to reduce common miscommunications that may occur when utilizing interpreter services to communicate with non-English speaking patients.
