Elnaz Nazmi is a physical therapist with 17 years of experience in the field of neurologic rehabilitation. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Davis with a double major in Spanish and Theater Arts with an emphasis in Dance. She then attended and graduated from Boston University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008. She has spent the vast majority of her career working in inpatient rehabilitation with the neurologic population, earning her clinical specialization in neurology in 2013. She has a passion for stroke rehabilitation in particular and is currently exploring implementation of high-intensity gait training to improve balance and gait outcomes in the rehabilitation setting. Since 2015, she has been a physical therapist at Sutter Rehabilitation Institute and currently serves as the therapy lead for the department. When not working at Sutter, she consults for the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities as a program surveyor for stroke, brain injury, and amputation specialty programs. In her rare spare time, she enjoys reading, exercise, and spending time with her husband and two children.
