Arzou Ahsan, MD, a board-certified OB-GYN, serves as the President and CEO of Sutter East Bay Medical Group (SEBMG). She was a founding member of SEBMG, which formed in 2005 with 46 clinicians and 10 specialties. Today, SEBMG has grown to include over 500 clinicians and 29 specialties. Throughout her career, Dr. Ahsan has held various leadership roles, including Board Director and Board Chair of SEBMG, as well as OB-GYN Department Chair and President of the Medical Staff at Alta Bates Hospital.

Before stepping into her current leadership role, Dr. Ahsan practiced full-scope OB-GYN with SEBMG, specializing in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. She most recently developed and led a high-volume obstetrics and midwifery hospitalist program at SEBMG, providing comprehensive care from complex obstetric surgeries and high-risk maternal transports to low-risk inpatient obstetric care.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Ahsan earned her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Chicago. She then pursued a master’s degree in economics at the University of California, Berkeley, before attending medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, where she also completed her OB-GYN residency.
