Dr. Ashley Beecy is the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at Sutter Health, where she leads the system’s AI strategy, governance, and deployment to improve patient outcomes, ease clinician workflows, and transform care experiences. She oversees a growing team of data scientists and partners across clinical, digital, and operational domains to translate high-impact use cases into measurable results.

Previously, Dr. Beecy served as Medical Director of Artificial Intelligence Operations at NewYork-Presbyterian and faculty member at Weill Cornell Medicine, caring for patients as a cardiologist while founding AI governance and leading the largest AI development initiative in collaboration with Cornell Tech. Her background spans healthcare, technology, and finance, informing a pragmatic approach to scaling innovation in complex organizations. A recognized voice on responsible, effective AI in healthcare, she has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and is a frequent invited speaker.

Dr. Beecy holds a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering from Boston University and an M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, with additional training at Columbia University and Technische Universität Dresden. She is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, echocardiography and clinical informatics.
