As Senior Vice President, Population Health and Health Plan Services & CEO of the Sutter Health Plan, Aparna Abburi spearheads efforts to enhance Sutter’s value-based care models that deliver data-driven, patient-focused solutions that improve health outcomes, expand access to care, and reduce costs for people and communities across California. She collaborates with medical groups, community independent physician associations and Sutter’s integrated care delivery teams through a clinically integrated network.

Aparna has nearly 25 years of healthcare experience, including executive roles at Cigna, Centene, and UnitedHealth Group. She has a proven track record in profit and loss management, strategic growth across Medicare, Medicaid and commercial lines of business, mergers and acquisitions, business turnarounds and healthcare policy. She holds board and advisory positions with several healthcare organizations.

She earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and lives in Berkeley with her family.
