Anthony Lucero, MD
Anthony Lucero, M.D., grew up in Southern California and earned his undergraduate degree in history from Vassar College before completing medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his residency training at Harbor-UCLA. After residency, Dr. Lucero joined the faculty at Kaweah Health, where he helped build a young residency program and later served as Vice Chair of the Institutional Review Board. He has published and presented nationally on topics ranging from EKG education to emergency department operations and now serves as Section Editor for Cardiac Care at the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Lucero joined Sutter Roseville because of the incredible combination of academic opportunity and quality of life the region offers. He appreciates the hospital’s strong culture of teamwork and commitment to providing the highest quality emergency care.
A lifelong runner, Dr. Lucero ran cross country and track in high school and college and later competed for the Santa Monica Track Club. He still enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and exploring Northern California’s endless outdoor opportunities. He and his wife, Dr. Kimberly Sokol, also an emergency physician, love discovering new trails, restaurants, and weekend getaways together.
