Description:
This 60-minute faculty development session, “What Qualifies as Scholarly Activity,” will provide Sutter Health GME faculty with a clear, practical understanding of what the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) considers scholarly activity. The session will break down different types of scholarship—from case reports to randomized controlled trials—using real examples across multiple specialties (Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry, Family Medicine). It will also focus on how to transform Quality Improvement (QI) projects into scholarly output, enabling faculty to meet ACGME requirements while improving clinical practice. Faculty will leave with practical frameworks, tools, and examples to initiate their own scholarly projects.
