Dr. Chopan was born and raised in Oroville, California. He received his Bachelor's degree in neurobiology/physiology & behavior from UC Davis. He attended medical school in Las Vegas, Nevada at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Community Memorial Health Systems in Ventura, California where he received many accolades including Resident of the Year and Best Resident Teacher. He is board certified and completed an Advanced GI / Minimally Invasive Surgery & Robotics fellowship sponsored by First Surgical Consultants. Dr. Chopan is excited to be returning back to Northern California alongside his wife and son to continue his journey of lifelong learning and to provide quality surgical care for the community.
