Taher is the Director of Pharmacy at Alta Bates Medical Center, a leader with extensive experience spanning clinical practice, academia, and administration. He possesses a strong foundation in both science and business, holding a PhD from State University of New York at Buffalo, a PharmD from the University of Florida, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Santa Clara University.

His diverse background includes an academic career as a professor of pharmacy, where he instructed courses in critical care, renal disease, nutrition, and drug information. His primary clinical areas of interest include nutrition, critical care, and internal medicine. During his doctoral studies, Taher contributed to the development of Tirbanibulin, a kinase inhibitor approved to treat actinic keratosis.
