Description:
This presentation addresses the critical practice gap where providers either avoid PSA screening entirely or apply it inappropriately due to outdated concerns about overdiagnosis and overtreatment based on prior USPSTF recommendations. Participants will explore how emerging biomarkers and advanced technologies now enable more precise risk stratification, reducing unnecessary biopsies while identifying clinically significant disease in appropriately selected patients. The session equips clinicians with evidence-based strategies to implement contemporary prostate cancer screening that balances the benefits of early detection with minimizing historical harms of overtreatment.
