Dr. DeWaters is a general internist with a national reputation as a medical educator and education researcher in Learning Health Systems and Health Systems Science. She recently led the Penn State College of Medicine Health Systems Science office that delivered innovative and cutting-edge curricula across the educational spectrum, from undergraduate to graduate to continuing medical education. She is committed to transmitting educational work into scholarship and is currently serving as the Principal Investigator for the Penn State College of Medicine AMA Reimagining Residency Grant. That work is creating novel assessment tools for the systems-based practice competency.
