Perry Tiberio, MD, PhD is a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician and Associate Program Director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Allegheny Health Network. Dr. Tiberio earned his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh before completing his MD and PhD at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where his doctoral research focused on novel HIV vaccine delivery systems. He completed his internal medicine residency at Yale University, implementing an HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis clinical program, and completed his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), investigating sedation practices in mechanically ventilated patients with substance use history.

Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Tiberio is an active member and contributor within both the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) and the American Thoracic Society (ATS). An accomplished clinician-educator with numerous peer-reviewed publications and awards, his academic and clinical focus centers on ICU delirium, optimized sedation strategies, and post-intensive care syndrome (PICS).
