This 7-hour live Zoom webinar reviews the evolution of pain management in the U.S., from under-treatment to opioid-centered care, and examines how prescribing practices and policy shifts have influenced safety, outcomes, and the opioid epidemic. Participants will apply evidence-informed, multidisciplinary strategies—including PT- and OT-led functional restoration, movement, and activity-based interventions—within a multimodal, non-opioid, patient-centered framework. Emphasis is placed on therapeutic presence, interprofessional collaboration, and nursing insight to enhance pain management and improve patient outcomes.

Implement an integrative “Inside, Outside, Top-Down” approach to chronic pain, incorporating at least two regulation or co-regulation techniques to support patient comfort and safety.
