Description:

Educating healthcare workers on the complexity of the LGBTQI+ patient community is essential for promoting equitable, inclusive, and effective healthcare delivery. The LGBTQI+ population faces unique health disparities, including higher rates of mental health challenges, substance abuse, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and barriers to accessing quality care.  This presentation will address real-life examples of microaggressions the diverse community encounters and how power and privilege play a role in the quality of care for patients with historically resilient identities.
