0512_Sansum_APC Quarterly Educational Sessions: Common Orthopedic Complaints_ Live
Description:
Acute orthopedic problems are a large number of everyday healthcare practices. Per the literature misdiagnosis of these injuries can often result from failure to consider certain clinical entities as a cause of the patient's complaints and can result in unnecessary complications for the patients. Missed orthopedic injuries can not only be detrimental to the patient but can also lead to malpractice claims. This one-hour session will cover primary care of orthopedic issues of the knee and shoulders to help providers stay abreast of current guidelines and evidence-based practices.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:
-Distinguish common orthopedic issues; such as posterior dislocation of the shoulder, epiphyseal plate injuries, and patellar tendon rapture
-Choose appropriate management and referrals to common orthopedic issues
-Recognize often misdiagnosed symptoms in patients presenting to healthcare offices
