Liz Elliott, MSN, CCRN, CSC, CMC, Clinical Nurse II

Ms. Liz Elliott, MSN specializing in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, has dedicated 21 years to nursing, with over 15 years in critical care nursing at Mills- Peninsula Medical Center. Since 2018, Ms Elliott has diligently served as the facility's champion for the Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia Prevention Initiative. This initiative, which encompassess comprehensive oral care, aspiration precautions and early mobility interventions, has reduced the rates of non-ventilator hospital acquired pneumonia by 70% over two years while consistently achieving its goals for the past four years. In recognintion of her significant contributions to the prevention of hospital-acquired pneumonia at MPMC, Ms. Elliott was honored with the Sutter Nurse of the Year Award: Force of Good in 2021. Furthermore, Ms. Elliott has actively disseminated evidence-based nursing proactices to other Sutter hospitals, including incorporating oral care solutions into the Medical Administration Records to enhance compliance with oral care protocols. Subsequentlly, she has collaborated with various interdisciplinary team members to develop quality improvement projects to enhance quality care and patient safety, thereby improving patient outcomes.
