0620_SHVGR_Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction_Live
Description:
This live virtual grand rounds will address the critical diagnostic challenge of inducible laryngeal obstruction (ILO), a condition frequently misdiagnosed as asthma, resulting in ineffective inhaler therapy, prolonged patient suffering, and unnecessary healthcare costs. Participants will learn to recognize ILO's distinctive clinical features, differentiate it from asthma through key diagnostic criteria, and understand when to refer patients to speech-language pathology for definitive diagnosis and evidence-based treatment. By enhancing early recognition and appropriate referral practices, this session aims to reduce diagnostic delays, improve patient outcomes, and eliminate wasteful spending on ineffective respiratory medications.

4.) Identify appropriate referral sources for ILO.
