Course Description:
Trauma Talk Tuesdays: Trauma Across the Continuum, From Scene to Recovery is a multidisciplinary educational conference designed to strengthen collaboration and clinical practice across the trauma continuum. This course will review time-sensitive trauma physiology, early recognition of deterioration, evidence-based hemorrhage control, resuscitation principles, and coordinated care from the prehospital environment through hospitalization and recovery. Through case-based discussion and hands-on skills, participants will explore opportunities to improve communication, clinical decision-making, and continuity of care while considering social determinants of health and potential bias that may affect trauma outcomes.
Assembly Bills 1195 & 241- Culturally Appropriate Care which is Free of Implicit Biases:
Learners are strongly encouraged to engage in self-directed learning related to the impact of implicit biases in this clinical area via the references provided below:

Target Audience
- Nurses, Registered (RN)
- Other Healthcare Professionals
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe key physiologic responses to traumatic injury and identify early signs of clinical deterioration requiring timely intervention.
2. Demonstrate evidence-based hemorrhage control and stabilization techniques, including tourniquet application, wound packing, and initial management of life-threatening injuries.
3. Integrate multidisciplinary strategies that improve coordination and continuity of trauma care from the prehospital setting through hospitalization, rehabilitation, and recovery, including consideration of social determinants of health and potential implicit bias.
